About Pantry Bliss
What is Pantry Bliss?
Pantry Bliss is the AI kitchen app that knows what’s in yours. It gives you something new for dinner from what’s already in your fridge: tell it what you’re craving and get fresh recipe ideas shaped around your pantry and what needs using first. It also tracks expiry dates, saves recipes from anywhere, and brings your shopping list and weekly plan together for everyone at home.
How does the AI recipe creator work?
Type, or pick from quick chips, what you have on hand or what you're craving. Pantry Bliss suggests five ideas tailored to you. Choose one and it writes the full recipe, with ingredients, method, timings and its own photo, ready to cook step by step.
Who is Pantry Bliss for?
Anyone who wants cooking to feel simpler and more creative: families juggling busy weeknights, conscious cooks who hate wasting food, curious foodies looking for fresh ideas, and anyone tired of asking "what's for dinner?" every night.
Can Pantry Bliss cater for allergies and dietary needs?
Yes. Add everyone you cook for, kids included, with their diets, allergies and dislikes. Every recipe Pantry Bliss creates follows them all and avoids the 14 major allergens for anyone who has them, including hidden sources like sesame oil or fish sauce. AI-created recipes should still be checked for allergens and food safety before you cook.
How is Pantry Bliss different from asking ChatGPT for a recipe?
A general chatbot starts from scratch every time. Pantry Bliss already knows what’s in your pantry, what expires first and everyone’s allergies and diets. The recipe lands in your cookbook, plan and shopping list, cook mode reads it aloud, and your pantry updates when you’re done.
Getting the app
Which devices does Pantry Bliss support?
Pantry Bliss is a native app for iPhone and iPad, available on the App Store. Your pantry, plans and favourites stay in sync across your devices.
Is there an Android app?
Android is coming soon. Join the waitlist with your email and we'll let you know as soon as it's ready. That's the only thing we'll use your email for.
Can I use Pantry Bliss on the web?
You can browse our public recipes right here on the website. Creating recipes, your pantry, shopping lists and meal plans all live in the iPhone and iPad app.
Does Pantry Bliss work with Siri?
Yes. Ask “What’s expiring in Pantry Bliss?”, say “Add to my Pantry Bliss list”, or ask Siri to cook a recipe or cook with what’s expiring. You’ll find the same actions in the Shortcuts app.
Does Pantry Bliss work on Apple Watch?
Yes. Your shopping list is on your wrist, sorted by aisle, and it updates as soon as someone in your household adds something. The watch app comes with the iPhone app: install it from the Watch app on your iPhone. It needs watchOS 26 or later.
Plans & billing
Is Pantry Bliss free?
Yes. The Free plan includes a shared household pantry with expiry tracking, barcode scanning, shopping lists, the weekly meal planner and 20 AI recipes to try. Upgrade to Household whenever you want more AI recipes, imports and scans.
How does billing work?
Subscriptions are purchased in the app and billed through your Apple ID, monthly or yearly, in your local currency. Yearly costs less than paying monthly, and new subscribers can try it free first.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Any time. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from your App Store subscription settings, and your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.
Does one plan cover my whole household?
Yes. Invite the people you live with and everyone shares the same pantry, shopping lists and weekly meal plan, on the Free plan too. When one person upgrades to Household, everyone in the household gets it, with no extra seats to pay for.
Pantry, planning & shopping
How does expiry tracking work?
Add items to your pantry with their use-by or best-before dates, or let Pantry Bliss suggest them when you scan a receipt. It highlights what is running out of time, sends a morning reminder, and builds recipes around those ingredients. When you cook, it marks what you used.
How does Pantry Bliss work out how much I’ve saved?
When you use an item within 3 days of its use-by date, or after it, Pantry Bliss counts it as rescued and values it at the price on your receipt, or a typical price for that kind of food. Today shows your total for the month and the meals you cooked from your pantry, and a recap arrives on the 1st. Savings are always shown as an estimate.
How are shopping lists created?
Add a recipe or your whole week of meals and the ingredients land on your shopping list in one tap. Tick things off as you shop and share the list with your household.
How do I add things to my pantry?
Scan a barcode, take a photo of your shopping receipt or a shelf, or type items in. Pantry Bliss works with whatever supermarket you use, because it reads the receipt rather than connecting to a store.
Can I save recipes from TikTok, Instagram and websites?
Yes. Tap Share in TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest or Safari and choose Pantry Bliss, paste a link, or snap up to six photos of cookbook pages or screenshots. Pantry Bliss turns it into a recipe you can scale, plan and cook. It credits the original author and keeps imported recipes private to your household.
What is cook mode?
Cook mode shows one step at a time in large, easy-to-read text, with the amounts that step needs, built-in timers and a Live Activity on your lock screen. Tap the hands-free button and it reads each step aloud and listens for “next”, “back”, “repeat”, “start timer” and “ingredients”, so you never touch the screen with messy hands.
What is Ask the chef?
Ask the chef is a cooking chat in the app. Ask how long something keeps, what to swap, or what to cook tonight, and it answers knowing what’s in your pantry, what’s on your plan and everyone’s food rules. Its recipe ideas open with a tap, and you can ask it mid-recipe from cook mode.
Can I use Pantry Bliss with ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes, with the Household plan. Add pantrybliss.com/mcp as a connector in ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant, sign in and choose your household. It can then see your pantry, plan, shopping list and everyone’s food rules, and, if you let it, add to the list and plan meals. You can disconnect it any time in the app under Settings › Privacy › Connected assistants.
Switching to Pantry Bliss
Mealime is closing. Can I move my recipes to Pantry Bliss?
Mealime has said it will shut down on 21 October 2026, so save the recipes you love before then. In Pantry Bliss you can import a recipe from a link to a public recipe page, or from up to six screenshots or photos, and plan your week the way you’re used to.
Can I bring recipes from Paprika, Yummly or other apps?
Yes, one recipe at a time for now: share or paste the recipe’s original web link, or import it from screenshots. Each imported recipe keeps a credit to its original author.
Does Pantry Bliss work with my supermarket?
Pantry Bliss isn’t tied to any store. Scan the receipt or the barcodes from wherever you shop, and your shopping list works in any supermarket.
